this is my first chunky knit project. it's for my cousin phoebe, who turns 21 tomorrow. she has been asking me to knit her something since i began four or so years ago so i thought this would be suitable.
the pattern is from susan chang on ravelry but i cast on more stitches (30) and knitted it much longer than specified (30 instead of 21 inches). i like how it's looser on the neck and can be worn in different ways.
i started with rowan big wool but it just felt too scratchy for around the neck
so i switched to debbie bliss como (cashmere as well as merino) and used bamboo needles.
